Yea.... Buddy!!!

Here is a pic of our big boy. He went twice this week, the first time I timed him and the second time he told me he had to go. I'm still not getting my hopes up for a diaper-free Jacob but we will keep working on it and hopefully there will be less diapers to change in the weeks and months to come. Daddy's words when I text him the news. "Yea... Buddy"!!!

Baby Girl at 22 Weeks

We were excited to find out in my last appointment that we are having a girl. She is about 1 pound and 2 ounces and measuring just right. I'm about 5 1/2 months and starting to feel a little big. In about 2 weeks I will be testing for gestational diabetes... (not fun!!) The test is done between 24 and 26 weeks. I have been enjoying eating all kinds of goodies. For some reason this pregnancy has been all about sweets, pizza, burgers and much more. I have a hard time saying NO to all of those temptations. I just hope to pass the test this time. Although my chances are small since I had GD with my Jacob. Ohh well...I just hope for the best. Here is the most recent pic of our baby. It looks like her body is compose of two circles..hehe. That's the only picture I got and I like it since it seems like she is smiling at the camera :) Precious!

Prego Updates

Hi all...it has been a long time. As most of you know the Cook family is expecting another gift from the Lord. I am currently a week shy of 5 months. Wow almost half way there! So far the results of the recent testing are good except I'm a little low on Iron. I think next month I will be testing for gestational diabetes which I did have with Jacob. We are hoping we get a break from that this pregnancy. But we will see. Last week Jesse, Jacob and I went to my OB for a prenatal visit and got to see our little baby...he/she is measuring just right. We also asked the Doc to take a peek and see if we have a girl or a boy. And from the ultrasound so far it looks like it might be a Girl!! He thought it is a little early to really tell so we will be checking again at the end of July. We already received a cute pink onecie from our sweet friends the Nostrands. I will be posting a picture of it soon. So stay tuned.
BUT if it's a Boy we will be blessed either way. "Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward" -Psalm 127:3

The Personal Touch Part 1

THOU GREAT I AM,

I acknowledge and confess that all things come of thee -
life, breath, happiness, advancement,
sight, touch, hearing, goodness, truth, beauty -
all that makes existence amiable.
In the spiritual world also I am dependent
entirely upon thee.
Give me grace to know more of my need of grace;
Show me my sinfulness that I may willingly
confess it;
Reveal to me my weakness that I may know my strength in thee.
I thank thee for any sign of penitence;
give me more of it;
My sins are black and deep,
and rise from a stony, proud, self-righteous heart;.......to be continued

It's been a long time

I'm still not sure if I will continue to do the blog. We'll see. But for now I wanted to update on Jacob's growth. He just had his 15 month appointment. His height and weight are good for his age. Weight: 24.10 oz. Height:31 inches. The doctor is happy with his development. Here is a little story inside our family:
1/29/10
Jacob loves coming into the kitchen and since Mami always tells him that he is not allowed to play with the kitchen covers and frequently gets a reminder by me or Dad to close them. So the other day he came flying into the kitchen as he always loves to do...and I had 3 of the cover doors open all next to each other. And here comes this one year old and closes all 3 one after the other and walks off. At that moment I felt like he was teaching me a lesson "to keep the covers closed".
